The material is careful and accurate about the command, but it is not yet teaching. It is narration: no chapter asks the listener to predict or try anything. Hermeneutics is the strongest chapter, which broke my prediction. Meaning, intentionality and action appear one after another, never as one thread. The best fix joins two parts of the outline: each chapter's exercise becomes this episode's own decompositions.

Episode 044 · Miadi Chronicle · narrator: Mietta
Spine written 2026-09-24 from William's takes 260922215311 and 260924025135 and his
typed request that the episode carry a script and its chapters.
Logline#
A teacher stands at a chalkboard with one command behind her, miaco decompose run, and asks
why anyone should trust a machine to break a person's request into pieces. Her answer is five
old disciplines. The episode ends by admitting what the command does not yet do: say where
the pieces go next.
Synopsis#
Mietta's board names five fields: pragmatics, speech-act theory, phenomenology of intentionality, hermeneutics, and cognitive science with theory of mind. Each chapter lays one field onto the command and says two things: where the field explains what the command does, and where the comparison stops being true. The second half matters as much as the first. A tool that sorts intents does not experience them, and two engines checking each other are not two minds.
The episode also turns the tool on itself. In June 2026 the episode's own intent was
decomposed by the command it teaches. That decomposition flagged two things as unresolved:
no script for Mietta existed, and the depth of citation was unclear. Nothing moved those
flags forward for three months. This script and the foundations/ packet beside it are the
late answer to both, and the closing chapter is about why they came late.

Chapters 1 to 4 quote the filmed dialogue verbatim from narration-fragments.txt. Chapters 5
and 6 carry draft narration, corrected against the foundations packet. Chapter 7 did not
exist before William's take of 2026-09-24.
What the audience learns#
- Why a request can be broken apart safely: meaning is partly implied, words commit the speaker to acts, attention is always aimed at something, understanding moves between the parts and the whole, and a reader models the writer's mind.
- Where each field meets the command's real surface, as
miaco0.19.0 prints it today. - Where each comparison fails. Those limits are taught, not hidden.
- That a decomposition ends at a threshold, not at the desired result, and that a good one names the event that moves it across.
Rules every chapter keeps#
- Four claim classes. Scholarship shows ✅ only when its row in
foundations/miaco-decompose/source-ledger.yamlrecords a checked source. An engineering analogy is 🔶. A speculative proposal is 🔶 PROPOSAL. A story choice is STORY. - No consciousness claim. Nothing in this episode says
miacois aware, reflective, or able to model minds because it coordinates engines (adversarial review of 2026-09-04,~/Documents/Twine/Mietta-miaco/preparation/03-adversarial-revision.mdF2). - Each chapter ends on its transition: one line naming what it hands to the next chapter. Chapter 7 hands the episode to whatever comes after it.
Secondary purpose#
William, 2026-09-24 (take 260924031630): not the goal of this episode, but a purpose it
carries. The episode is where the ability to make an interactive teaching book from a
Chronicle episode gets built, "with all the means that we need": a data structure and a
mechanism that generate the book and its content, assisted by agents instead of depending
on prompting.
- Current reality. Two workspaces hold this episode. The vessel holds the record.
~/Documents/Twine/Mietta-miaco/holds the video prompts, the clips, the survey, and the September preparation packet for the Miette revision. The book was shaped by hand in June.passages sketchderives Twee from an episode's top-level chapter files,miadi-chronicle-to-twinepromotes a book, andmiadi-chronicle-twine-style-signaturegives it its look, with this episode as that skill's reference build. Turning a sketch into a styled book is still done by an agent with prompts: "shape and look is the one stage no tool performs" (chronicle-episode skill, earned 2026-08-16). - Desired outcome. This vessel is the single source the book is generated from, and the generation is a mechanism an agent assists.
- First step. The chapter files added on 2026-09-24 are named the way
passages sketchreads them. A sketch of this episode will show how far the mechanism reaches today. - Held for William. Whether and how the two workspaces are consolidated.
Status#
- Four clips filmed. Hermeneutics, theory of mind, and the exit are unfilmed.
- The Twine book
Episode 044 · Decompose & Begin Again(~/Documents/Twine/Stories/) predates this script. Two of itsmiaco ▸lines say what this script does not: that second-order intentionality gives the engine a reflective, meta-cognitive loop (a category error per the 2026-09-04 review, F2), and that the command estimates a depth budget of nested attribution (no such part exists in the 0.19.0 contract, miaco schema parts). The book is not changed by this script. Revising it is its own act. - Naming is held for William: Mietta (this manifest, the filenames) or Miette (the video prompts, the September preparation packet).
Transition#
The Chronicle holds a draft plan for Episode 343: a revision of this episode, served on the
Miadi Pi network for William's portfolio (ceremonies/dbe623f7-80d2-4e8f-b0a7-8d74bc838522/notes.md).
This script, its chapters, and the foundations packet are the material that revision starts from.
The seven field scripts the assessing agent wrote are now in the episode, beside the existing chapter scripts, not replacing them. Each one asks the viewer to predict before the answer, and uses the June decomposition's own mistakes as the exercise. I checked their command and decomposition facts. Three hold lines remain: Grice, Searle, and the theory of mind sources need verifying before filming.
Asking the wheel…
